ABOUT THIS EVENT :

Join us for an early evening documentary film and thoughtful conversation at the Sherwood Hall!

⏰4 – 5:30 PM : screening

We’ll begin with a screening of Cosmographies, a visually striking documentary by Juan Francisco Salazar, featuring a live performance by Māori artist Victoria Hunt. The film brings forward Indigenous ways of seeing the world, linking ancestral knowledge, science, and art to questions many communities face today.

⏰ 5:30 – 6:30 PM : Discussion

After the screening, Victoria Hunt will join local community members, Kitsumkalum representative Sharon Bryant and FireFlight Group consultant Mary Kelly, for an open, respectful panel conversation hosted by Sarah Zimmerman. This discussion invites us to reflect on our own relationship to land, industry, and change, especially in places shaped by boom-and-bust economies.

With major changes unfolding in our region, this gathering offers space to talk honestly : not to debate, but to sit with complexity, past struggles, and possible futures.

Open to everyone, free to attend and guided by care, curiosity, and imagination!
